The one thing Applecare agent previously had me do is a software re-install by doing a restart with command-R, but that didn't address the issue. Turn off system hibernation by using Terminal commands: But come on, this was a $7K computer so we expect a little bit better. The wake from sleep issue is many times per day, so I've gotten into the habit of not sleeping it when possible, and hitting a mouse key to wake it up and then I do something else for a minute or 2.

Interestingly, before Mojave there was a different problem - kernel panics about every week or 2. I have a two-monitor setup (an ancient 32" Apple Cinema Display) and after about a minute of invisible activity both screens will come alive and I can enter my password and get back to work.Īs mentioned in the title, this only began after upgrading to Mojave. I get the infamous "black screen" where you can hear and see things going on but there is no way to see. Without fail, each and every time I put the computer to sleep, it hangs on wake. IMac Pro Wake from Sleep to Black Screen after Mojave Update I have an open Applecare Case Number for this, #****. I hope someone can give me an proper answer since I have my master thesis submission in 3 weeks and i really really need my imac back fully working.

I shows me as I just have my second monitor, it can not detect imac's monitor. Small tipp: When I am on Windows with Bootcamp and and check the displays on Control Panel, the system shows me that it can detect just my second monitor, not the imac's monitor. I have rebooted the imac several times, nothing happens. The last time i could fix this problem was by reseting SMC, but now this solution doesn't work as well. The thing is, I have already experienced this problem 2-3 times before, i don't really know how i fixed it, one time it took 3 weeks and the next time 5 minutes. I have already tried reseting SMC, NVRAM. When I connect an another display, i recieve image on my second display, everything is fully working, but nothing on my imac screen Just black screen, like it is totally turned off, although my mac is completely working and responsive. After the sleep mode, when want to wake up my computer,i recieve basicly nothing on my imac screen. No resources ive found have had this exact problem as the game itself does not crash but only the display.I am experiencing a really annoying problem with my 27" mid 2017 imac. Have also tried changing sleep/power saving options to no avail. Troubleshooting: I have reset and updated my drivers multiple times along with removing old driver files for clean installs. However this also results in me having to reset resolution and framerate settings in the games. The problem is resolved by unplugging and replugging in the DP cable for my primary monitor. Monitors: Viotek GNV27DB, Dell P24h G4 - both connected by DP cablesĭescription of Original Problem: When starting up games following the computer being asleep, there will be a black screen on my main monitor, however the game and sound are still running and my second monitor is unaffected. GPU Drivers: Adrenalin Driver Version: 21.6.1 Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 Pro 20H2
